After opening night of "The Golden Egg" on Broadway, the wealthy producer is throwing a lavish party in her Manhattan townhouse. With celebrities downstairs, a group upstairs in the producer’s bedroom awaits the reviews of the play.  The mood of the wacky cast of characters starts out light and friendly and grows steadily bitchier—and funnier—as the bad reviews start pouring in. Each one blames the other, yet , they proceed with plans for their next venture that will surely be the long-awaited, elusive hit.
